‘Sign up, Link in, Get involved’ - Healthy Mind Festival, Mental Health Week

Organised by the Mental Health Association NSW (MHA), the ‘Healthy Mind Festival’, is the official launch of Mental Health Week (MHW) NSW 2009, and is being held at Martin Place, Sydney, on Wednesday 7th October from 11am – 3pm.

MHW NSW 2009, from Sunday 4 October to Saturday 10 October 2009, sees the launch of the second stage of a three-year Building Resilience campaign with a focus this year on “Sign up, Link in, Get involved.”

The Building Resilience campaign is about developing individual strengths and abilities, enabling us to cope with setbacks and challenges.

“Sign up, Link in, Get involved” promotes the connection between mental wellbeing and getting involved in our local communities, clubs, organisations and services. Getting involved is another way we can build our resilience to life stressors and challenges.

The launch will be officially opened by the Hon Barbara Perry MP, Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health).

Highlights of the event include -

• Radio and TV personality Julie McCrossin as MC
• Performances from the Sydney Street Choir and local dancers from ‘Dance Studio 101’
