Skills include: OB/GYN prep of patients for nursing/physicians for examinations. Vaginal tray set-up for nursing/physician staff. Assist staff when necessary in examinations. Vitals, capillary punctures (both adults and pediatrics) for glucose testing and basic lab testing, admission and discharge prep of patients. Order exams and tests as requested by nursing staff and general attention to patients as requested. Range of motion, height, weight, personal hygiene and grooming, sanitization, unoccupied and occupied bed, body mechanics, patient restraints, and patient transfer with use of gait belt.
Responsible for the supervision and performance evaluations of the trainee nurse for new physicians and clinicians; training for new nurse; quality reviews; generation of statistical reports; and also maintenance of departmental nursing data and equipments.
Responsibilities of Dr. Greene’s MA will include but not be limited to preparing exam rooms, rooming patients, taking histories, assisting in surgeries, subcutaneous anesthetic injections, skin examinations, triaging calls, patient education, managing cancellations and emergencies. Need to be comfortable with promotion of cosmetic products and procedures. Occasional travel rotation to alternate location may be needed in the future.
